ABC looks like they’re launching something new via a new viral marketing campaign. Tonight during LOST, a small image would appear on the screen for a second or two, followed by the words, “What did you see?” A quick Google search produced a sponsored result for The Mosaic Collective. Interestingly enough, a few minutes after LOST ended, another Google search did not produce the site again.
The site asks you what you saw, with an answer box and a place for your email address. At the bottom, a copyright of ABC, Inc. Interesting.
I like viral marketing. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.
I saw at least four “commercials” with this, but only caught two of the images: children playing and a surfer riding a large wave. What did you see?
UPDATE: According to this news story (thanks Drew), it’s marketing for a show “Flash Forward.” No details about the show just yet. I’ll keep following it though.
Images Seen:
*Wedding
*Surfing
*Ultrasound
*Coffin
*Children running out of a schoolhouse
UPDATE: I’ve got the videos now. http://magnificentvista.wordpress.com/2009/04/29/what-did-you-see-update-the-videos/
I saw it and did the same thing as you….Googled it ASAP. I actually saw two of them during the Lost episode though. The first, I only caught the words “What did you see” and didn’t see the image beforehand, but the second version had kids running out of a schoolhouse.
I Googled it just a minute ago and the sponsored result still appeared. Not sure why it didn’t appear for you after the episode.
Thanks for posting this. I couldn’t get to a computer quick enough. I saw or heard it play at least four times – once for each commercial break, but old saw the second image.
It appears to be marketing for a potential show called “Flash Forward.”

A little disappointing that it isn’t directly Lost-related, but still intriguing.

And as for the images: The first was a wedding, the second was someone surfing, the third appeared to be an ultrasound, and the last was children running out of a schoolhouse.
A coffin was also involved.
Oh, by the way I linked back to your blog in my post. Thank you. (Personally, the traffic on my blog skyrocketed with because I posted on this topic. It’s kind of insane.)
